What You Need To Know About Comoros Citizenship By Investment

The Comoros Economic Citizenship Program is a legal naturalization program established in 2001 in accordance with the Constitution. The Program is regulated by the Law On Economic Citizenship as of 27 November 2008 and has been guaranteed by the federal government since 2008. The relevant legislation has been recently amended to reflect a clearer focus on citizenship by investment.

The local public authority responsible for processing all applications under the Program is the National Independent Committee (NIC).According to the law, citizenship is granted solely by decree of the President of the Republic. The official confirmation that you were granted citizenship is the Certificate of Naturalization and passport of Comoros Union.

Once you have acquired the status of an economic citizen of the Comoros you cannot serve in the national army or in the judicial authorities of the Comoros. You will not be permitted to vote either. Benefits granted to economic citizens cannot be lower than those given to any foreign investor within the framework of the code of investments.

It takes approximately 45-80 days from the moment you submit a complete application until you get your Comorian citizenship and passport. However processing times may vary depending on each individual case and the government policy, nationality  of applicant, his residency. Also the term may depends on the quality of documents and information completeness.

Changes to the government or its executives will not have any grounds in law to revoke your citizenship.

Many smart high net worth individuals are turning to the Comoros citizenship program as it provides protection for your assets and provides a high degree of privacy. As a part of this privacy agreement, your home country will never be notified that you have obtained a citizenship of the Comoros Islands.
